Our Philosophy
Tripping for us, is what sea kayaking is all about.
Just remember, it is the journey not the destination is what counts! One should never procrastinate about going on a trip or planning an expedition.
JUST GO, NOW!
Plan your own expedition
Choose a destination that really inspires you
Here are our top tips for a successful expedition:
Draw up an action plan
Once you have decided what it is you want to do, time will disappear quickly, draw up a plan of what you need to do by when
Make links with companies or contacts to where you are going.
It is the people in-country who are most likely to ensure the success of your project.
Keep safe
Risk assessment is not simply a bureaucratic necessity, check with the country or countries to where you are going, checking current events along with the political environment.
Preparation
If you are using new gear it is important that you try them out beforehand so you will have a complete understanding of their usage and circumvent any potential problems.
Being there
Also before you go, it is important to have some idea of the language, and if all else fails make sure you do have a language dictionary in your gear.
Keeping in contact
In this day and age it is becoming increasingly easier to contact people around the country and the world purchasing local cell phones or using a satellite phone. There are other items that one can use and we recommend, a SPOT receiver. This receiver covers almost the entire planet with the exception of only a few very remote areas. We completely recommend the SPOT SATELLITE COMMUNICATOR and have used one on all our expeditions.
Sponsorship
There are many adventurers that do approach companies to help fund their adventure. This is not something we have chosen to do. If you would like to choose this route, I have website listed below that specializes in that and are very helpful.
